Who we are

407 Umps is operated by ModernSynergies, LLC(“we,” “us,” “our”), a Florida limited liability company doing business as 407 Umps. We connect parents and coaches who need umpires for youth baseball games with league-cleared volunteer umpires. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

What we collect

If you book an umpire (parents, coaches, requesters):

Your name, email address, and phone number
Your billing address (collected by Stripe for card-verification purposes; not displayed in our service)
Booking details: the league, age group, team, field, date, time, and any notes you provide

If you register as an umpire (our roster of league-cleared volunteers):

Your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and expected high school graduation year (if applicable)
Your league certification history and availability
If you are a minor (under 18),we also collect your parent or guardian’s name, email, and phone number, and require their explicit consent before your registration is active

If you communicate through our masked-line system (a Twilio-managed phone-number relay that lets matched parties coordinate without exposing real phone numbers):

The full text of SMS messages you exchange for 90 days after the scheduled game date, then deleted
Metadata about each message (sender, recipient, direction, timestamp, and length) — retained indefinitely for audit and operational integrity

Automatically:

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the service is used

How we use it

To operate the service:match you with an umpire (or, if you’re an umpire, with a requester); send booking confirmations, match notifications, cancellation notices, and one-time login codes; process the $10 connection fee through Stripe
To run the masked-line system so you and the matched party can coordinate directly without exposing real phone numbers
To communicate with you about your booking, registration, or account
To comply with our legal and tax obligations
To investigate and prevent abuse, fraud, or violations of our terms

We do not sell your information. We do not share your information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Who we share it with

We share your information only with service providers that help us operate the service:

Stripe (payment processing) — handles your $10 connection fee and stores card details on our behalf
Twilio (SMS gateway and masked-line provider) — delivers transactional SMS and stores masked-line message content on our behalf for the retention windows described above
Supabase (account authentication) — manages account sign-in and verification codes
Resend (email delivery) — delivers transactional emails
Netlify (web hosting) — hosts the 407 Umps website and may receive standard server logs

Each of these providers is bound by contract to protect your information and use it only to provide their service to us.

We may also disclose information when required by law (subpoena, court order, regulatory request) or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

How long we keep it

Booking and payment records: indefinitely, for tax and financial recordkeeping
Account information (name, email, phone): for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable retention window after closure
Umpire roster information: while you are on the roster, plus a retention window after removal
Masked-line message bodies: 90 days after the scheduled game date, then deleted
Masked-line message metadata: indefinitely, for audit purposes

SMS messaging disclosures

407 Umps sends transactional SMS messages to phone numbers you provide when you book an umpire at 407umps.com/book/form or register as a volunteer umpire at 407umps.com/umpires. Submitting either form constitutes your consent to receive these messages.

Message types include: booking confirmations, match notifications when an umpire accepts your game, cancellation notices, one-time login codes for checking on existing bookings, and (for volunteer umpires) game assignment notifications and accept/decline prompts.

Message frequency: Messages are transactional and tied to your specific booking or assignment activity. Frequency varies depending on your activity on the service. A typical booking generates between 2 and 8 messages from initiation through game completion.

Message and data rates may apply. Standard messaging rates from your wireless carrier apply to all messages sent or received. 407 Umps does not charge for SMS messages.

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. The only parties with whom we share your mobile phone number are the service providers listed in the “Who we share it with” section above, each of whom is bound by contract to use it only to provide their service to us.

To opt out: Reply STOP to any SMS message at any time. You will receive one final confirmation message and then no further messages from that number. To resubscribe, reply START to the same number.

Children’s information

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) does not apply to our service.

For minor umpires (ages 13–17), we collect information only with the explicit consent of a parent or guardian, who must co-sign the registration form and confirm via email link before the registration is active. Parents and guardians may contact us at any time at help@407umps.com to review, correct, or delete their minor’s information.

Your rights

You can:

Ask what personal information we have about you
Request a copy of your information
Ask us to correct information that’s wrong
Ask us to delete your information (subject to our legal and tax recordkeeping obligations)
Opt out of transactional SMS by replying STOP to any message

Security

We use commercially reasonable security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest where supported by our service providers. No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect what you trust us with.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted at this URL with an updated “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the service after a change indicates your acceptance.
